Jaws!!🦈 Find here my first little gallery of Amity Island, which is in reality Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. The scenes were filmed all over the island. I took these pics at Joseph Sylvia State Beach where the shark is going into the pond. Hi from Sölden, Austria! 👋🏻 This is one of the spectacular filming locations of the James Bond movie “Spectre”. As you can see they built a special entrance for the production at the ice Q restaurant on Gaislachkogel (and enlarged the building by CGI as the Hoffler clinic). Yesterday I was invited to have a first look at the new installation “007 Elements” (@007elements) and was really amazed by what they built inside the mountain. Let’s face it: Tourism appears not always without problems and some places, including filming locations, are in danger of overtourism. In 2015 I visited Maya Bay in Thailand, which was used for the film “The Beach”. With its cristalline waters and white sand it’s a beautiful dream location but sadly totally overcrowded. Too many tourists, too many boats… you just couldn’t feel the magic of this place anymore and I was really concerned about the state of the environment there. That’s why I was happy to hear that the bay will be closed from June til September this year to reverse damage to the surrounding coral reef. Happy Birthday to author Stephen King @stephenking! I took this „The Shining“ pic-in-pic two years ago while staying at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. The hotel didn’t serve as the Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s film adaption but it inspired King to write the novel „The Shining“ when he spent there one night with his family as the only guests before it was closed for winter. In Room 217 he had a nightmare and woke up sweating all over but with a story in his mind… The Stanley is well-known for being a haunted hotel and was also the location for „The Shining“ TV miniseries.
